Copywriting for Wellness Architecture

It's all about Connection.

While you concentrate on designing spaces that allow their users to connect with nature, let me connect your client to your vision.

Architecture is technical, both in concept and execution. It can leave prospective clients confused and unsure if and how you can help them.

With our mental health worse than ever, wellness and well-being are more relevant than ever – in all aspects of our lives, including architecture. Wellness Architecture and Biophilic Design is about how people feel in and around the buildings and spaces they occupy. â€‹

You need straightforward language and copy to communicate your vision to your clients on an emotional, human level, simply and directly. This creates a better understanding and tools to visualise how your space will transform and benefit them.

I can also help your business find its brand voice, finding and refining what your values are and how you present them.

I will articulate your vision through words, so that your clients understand why you are the best solution to their problem... all with captivating story-driven narratives, and action-based solutions to win you more business.

Whether it’s through space, sustainable materials, light, ventilation or a combination, I will help you communicate how your space will benefit mental and physical health, reduce stress, promote productivity, enhance mood and healthy lifestyles and habits - or whatever else your goals may be.

US-based The Global Wellness Institute defines Wellness Architecture as:

‘the practice of architecture that relies on the art and science of designing built environments with socially conscious systems and materials to promote the harmonious balance between physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual wellbeing while regenerating the natural environment. Human health, wellbeing and comfort are key design considerations that augment a foundation rooted in sustainable and regenerative design practices.’

It sounds to me like a great philosophy to build and live by.

Here are some of the businesses that might come to me:

architects | interior designers | spas | saunas | yoga studios | meditation centres | libraries | wellness centres | beauty salons | massage centres | sports centres | art galleries | concert halls | schools

Biophilic Design

Bringing the outside in.

The term ‘Biophilia’ was coined in 1973 by psychoanalyst, Erich Fromm, who described it as

"passionate love of life and of all that is alive... whether in a person, a plant, an idea, or a social group"

When I bought my flat in London back in 2011, the first thing I did was to fill it with indoor plants.

During my undergraduate degree I studied Ethnography and wrote a thesis called 'Making Nature', focused on the botanical gardens in Le Parc de la Tete d'Or in Lyon, France. It looked at how humans strive to control and create nature, and the rules that we place around how we integrate nature into urban environments.

A stay at Geoffrey Bawa's Kandalama Hotel in Sri Lanka (read about it here) further cemented my love for Biophilic design.

Added to this, with artists and architects in my family, and fuelled by my love of the practise and philosophies of yoga, an interest in Wellness Architecture and Biophilic Design, you could say comes naturally.

Whatever your vision for incorporating biophilic elements into your business, I will find the right words that get you noticed.
